The SWOT analysis, or SWOT Report, is a brief document that assesses the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats faced by an organization or company.  

Two library databases provide access to SWOT reports:

A company may have a SWOT report in both databases, in neither, or in only one of the two, so it pays to check both. 

In Business Insights Essentials, simply do a company search and when you find the parent company listing, look for "SWOT Reports" among the links under the company name.

In Business Source Elite, ignore results that tell you to use "Full Text Finder" to track down a SWOT report.  Instead,

  1. Look to the grey bar at the very top of the search page  
  2. Select COMPANY PROFILES. Then search for the company name 
  3. If you find a Company Profile for your company, the SWOT analysis will likely be embedded within the company profile   
  4. Scroll through the company profile or consult the table of contents to find the SWOT Analysis.
